The Cause:
Smith-Magenis Syndrome Research Foundation.

One of the founders lives in Wilton, CT and our very own Steve Wood has served on the board in the past and remains very active with fundraising efforts on behalf of the foundation. Steve’s son Damian has SMS.

SMS is a rare genetic condition that manifests with a variety of challenges. Damian is intellectually, physically, and behaviorally disabled and every day is an adventure. The SMSRF has been raising money for 4 years for the sole purpose of academic research at the Baylor College of Medicine where the organization sponsors a lab. Many great strides have been made in recent years but there is much work to be done. Every donation helps as the SMSRF and the BCM work to examine genetic pathways to alleviate the difficulties of the syndrome.
